OCF Announces Age Category Changes for 2024-25 Season

June 20, 2024 (Toronto, ON) – In alignment with Climbing Escalade Canada (CEC), the Ontario Climbing Federation (OCF) is announcing changes to the age categories for the upcoming 2024-25 season.

We captured the relevant age categories as outlined in the graph below by the CEC and included those that are relevant only to the OCF as well (notably the Youth E category). Of particular note is that while the ages for each category have moved up a year, the OCF is continuing to allow athletes who would be 8 years old in 2025 to compete in the Youth E category, making that age category a 3-year window.

The new age categories are as follows:

These updates have been made on the website under the Age Categories page, though updates have not been made to our Rules just yet. The updates will also be made on the registration portal once that opens up closer to the end of the summer in preparation for the season.
