Committees
OCF committees are composed of volunteers who contribute their time and skills to a specific area of our organization. Committee terms vary and most committees meet monthly via teleconference.
Are you interested in joining a committee? New volunteers are always welcome, and we look forward to working with you. We now have three (3) committees with updated terms of references up and running for the 2024-25 season. Governance and Nominations Committee
The Governance and Nominations Committee plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective leadership and strategic direction of the OCF. Volunteers on this committee will, among other things:
Oversee the nomination process for board members and key positions within the organization.
Conduct an analysis of the OCF governance structure and make recommendations on possible changes to the Board of Directors.
Support the development of policies that guide the OCF’s operations.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee
The DEI Committee is instrumental in creating a welcoming environment for all climbers, regardless of background. Volunteers on this committee will, among other things:
Develop and implement initiatives that promote diversity and inclusivity within the climbing community.
Advise the OCF on policies and practices that ensure equitable access and opportunities.
Assist in fostering partnerships with organizations and communities to broaden participation in climbing.

High-Performance (HP) Committee
The HP Committee is responsible for making recommendations and developing policy for the OCF Board of Directors to ratify. It does not have final decision-making power unless supported by an approved policy or an area is specifically listed in its terms of reference.

Competition Committee
The Competition Committee structures, plans, and schedules the OCF competition calendar.
Technical Committee
The Technical Committee maintains the OCF rulebook and works to grow our team of volunteer judges and officials.
Communications Committee
The Communications Committee works to keep our members informed and spread the OCF’s message to the broader Ontario climbing community.
