This competition is the first Top Rope Qualifier of the 2022/2023 season for our Youth E, D and C athletes. The second Qualifier will be at Climb Muskoka on February 25 2023. The top 20 Youth D & C athletes after the two Qualifiers (using a ranking of each athlete's best ranking at a Qualifier) will qualify for Top Rope Provincials at Junction Climbing in London on April 1/2 2023. Youth E are not eligible to compete at Provincials.

Instructions:
Create an account (new athletes only)
Purchase a 2022/2023 season membership (a Youth E membership or a Youth D/C/B/A/Jr/Adult membership depending on athlete age)
Sign waivers (participation waiver and concussion waiver)
Register and pay for the competition (Select the Youth E, D or C competition depending on athlete category)
Format - Youth E & D
Youth E and D athletes will compete in a single round and will climb their routes on Top Rope.
Every competitor will attempt four (4) routes, according to a posted random running order. Each competitor will be allowed one (1) 2nd attempt on each route (time permitting). All routes will be judged on a per hold basis, with first attempt worth more than achieving the same point on second attempt. Athletes are allowed to watch other athletes climb and may share beta while warming up. However, no beta is allowed while an athlete is climbing.
There is no Isolation Zone, and no Final Round for these two categories.

Format - Youth C
Youth C will also climb their routes on Top Rope.
The Qualification Round for Youth C will run using the CEC/IFSC Flash Format. Every competitor will attempt two (2) routes, according to a posted random running order. No second attempts will be allowed. All routes will be judged on a per hold basis. Route preview videos will be provided in advance. In addition, athletes are allowed to watch other athletes climb and may share beta while warming up. However, no beta is allowed while an athlete is climbing.
The Final Round for Youth C will run using the CEC/IFSC Onsight Format, with strict Isolation rules. Each finalist will attempt one (1) route, with no 2nd attempt allowed. The top eight (8) from each category after the Qualification Round advance to the Final Round (Rule 13.5).

Please note your position on the Start List for each route. Youth C will climb two (2) routes in the Qualification Round, and Youth E/D will climb four (4) routes in their competition.

Spectators
Spectators will be allowed based on the facility’s capacity.
There will be a spectator fee of $5 per person (OCF athletes, OCF coaches, volunteers and Pinnacle members are not required to pay).

You can help make this a great event by volunteering to judge. Judges get a free lunch, a front row view of some awesome climbing, and the chance to wear a really cool green vest! It’s a great opportunity to contribute to our volunteer-led organization.

Everyone entering the gym must sign a facility waiver. This includes athletes, coaches, volunteers and spectators.
Coaches
Only OCF certified coaches will be given coaching credentials for this event. Please see our website for additional information: https://www.climbontario.ca/coaches.
Results
Youth D and C results will be posted at https://compseason.com.
Youth E results will not be posted in order to conform with the sport climbing Long Term Athlete Development framework.
