This competition is the first Lead Qualifier of the 2022/2023 season for Youth A, Junior and Adult athletes. The second Qualifier will be at Boiler Room Climbing Gym on February 20 2023. The top 20 athletes in each category after the two Qualifiers (using a ranking of each athlete's best ranking at a Qualifier) will qualify for Lead Provincials at Junction Climbing in London on April 1/2 2023.

Format
All competitors will climb their routes on lead.
The Qualification Round will run using the CEC/IFSC Flash Format. Every competitor will attempt two (2) routes, according to a posted random Start List. No second attempts will be allowed. All routes will be judged on a per hold basis. Route preview videos will be provided in advance. In addition, athletes are allowed to watch other athletes climb and may share beta while warming up. However, no beta is allowed while an athlete is climbing.
The Final Round will run using the CEC/IFSC Onsight Format, with strict Isolation rules. Each finalist will attempt one (1) route, with no 2nd attempt allowed. Quota to Finals is eight (8) athletes per category.

Schedule
This is a one day event.
The Qualification Round will be in the morning, and the Final Round will be in the afternoon/ early evening, with awards to follow.
9:00am - Gym open for check-in and warm-up*
10:30am - Start of qualification round
1:30pm - Estimated end of qualification round
3:00pm** - ISO opens
3:30pm** - ISO closes (all athletes must be checked into ISO by this time)
4:00pm** - Start of Final Round
5:45pm - Estimated end of Final Round

*Athletes may check in at anytime, as long as they’re ready to climb when it is their turn.
**The ISO open/close times, as well as the start time for the Final Round, will be confirmed at the end of the Qualification Round. We will ensure at least 2.5 hours between the end of the Qualification Round and the start of the Final Round.

Spectators are welcome to attend for FREE. Come watch the action and cheer on the competitors!
Volunteers
We will need at least 4 judges for the Qualification Round and at least 4 judges for the Final Round. You can help make this a great event by volunteering.

Everyone entering the gym must sign a facility waiver. This includes athletes, coaches, volunteers and spectators.
Parking
There is NO free parking available at Joe Rockhead’s. Pay parking is available in the neighbourhood. Please read signage carefully. Many lots are reserved for specific businesses, and parking officers patrol frequently. We recommend parking in the green-highlighted areas marked on the map.
Coaches
