OCF Announces 2024-25 Competition Season Update

July 24, 2024 (Toronto, ON) – The Ontario Climbing Federation (OCF) is excited to announce that scheduling of the 2024-25 competition season has begun.

There are some amazing changes this year; changes that benefit not only the athletes, but the gyms as well. We have restructured the season into two distinct segments to better align with the CEC's schedule: a Senior season for climbers aged 16 and up, and a separate Youth season for E, D, C, B, A, and Jr categories. Senior events will be held before the CEC Nationals in late November, with the Youth season kicking off in December.

Maria Richardson, Chair of the OCF Board, expressed enthusiasm about the progress: “We are thrilled with the strong engagement from our partner gyms. Since the end of last season, we have been working closely together to enhance the experience for hosts, athletes, and the climbing community as a whole.”

The OCF will also be unveiling updates to the newly formed High Performance Program, aimed at advancing development opportunities for Ontario’s elite athletes and positively impacting all levels of the competition scene.

Nathan Abdelnour, Executive Director of the OCF, highlighted the progress made: “Last year, our focus was on securing long-term funding, which we successfully achieved. This year, we are dedicated to planning the 2024-25 season, including an earlier release of the competition schedule and updates to our committees. These efforts will strengthen our organizational foundation and benefit the OCF in both the short and long term.”

To find more information regarding the upcoming competition schedule, please see the OCF Events page and calendar.

The OCF will continue to update our membership over the coming weeks with information as it becomes available. For more information, please reach out to info@climbontario.ca.
