This competition is the second of two Lead Qualifiers of the 2022/2023 season for our Youth B, Youth A, Junior and Adult athletes. Youth B will compete on Sunday, and Youth A/Junior/Adult will compete on Monday.
The top 20 athletes in each category after the two Qualifiers (using a ranking of each athlete's best ranking at a Qualifier) will qualify for Lead Provincials at Junction Climbing in London on April 1/2 2023.

Everyone entering the gym must sign a facility waiver. This includes athletes, coaches, volunteers and spectators.
Format
All competitors will climb their routes on lead.
The Qualification Round will run using the CEC/IFSC Flash Format. Every competitor will attempt two (2) routes, according to a posted random Start List. No second attempts will be allowed. All routes will be judged on a per hold basis. Route preview videos will be provided in advance. In addition, athletes are allowed to watch other athletes climb and may share beta while warming up. However, no beta is allowed while an athlete is climbing.
The Final Round will run using the CEC/IFSC Onsight Format, with strict Isolation rules. Each finalist will attempt one (1) route, with no 2nd attempt allowed. Quota to Finals is eight (8) athletes per category.

Final Schedule
This is a one day event for each category. Youth B will compete on Sunday February 19. Youth A/ Junior/Adult will compete on Monday February 20.
Here is the final schedule (same for both days):
8:00am - Gym open for check-in and warm-up*
10:00am - Start of Qualification Round
1:00pm - Estimated end of Qualification Round
4:00pm - ISO opens
4:30pm - ISO closes (all finalists must be checked into ISO by this time)
5:00pm - Start of Final Round (Observation Period followed by climbing)

*Athletes may check in at anytime, as long as they’re ready to climb when it is their turn.

Athletes will compete according to the order in the posted Start Lists. Please note your position on the Start List for each route, keep track of athletes climbing ahead of you, and report to each route, ready to climb, when it’s your turn.

Final Round Start Lists & ISO instructions for Final Round
Final Round Start Lists will be posted between rounds each day of the competition.
The entrance to ISO will be at the back of the gym (access from Sir John A MacDonald Blvd). Finalists and coaches - please consult the map below before arriving for finals!!
Parking & Gym Access
There are no special parking instructions for the Qualification Rounds. Everyone should enter the gym through the main entrance off Princess St.
For the Final Round, all spectators and volunteers should enter through the main entrance off Princess St.
Finalists (and any coaches entering ISO) will access the gym from the back of the building (through the entrance off Sir John A MacDonald Blvd). Please consult the map below. Parking is available at the back of the building for those entering ISO.
Coaches
Only OCF certified coaches will be given coaching credentials for this event. Please see our website for additional information: https://www.climbontario.ca/coaches.
